Dear visitors:
We are pleased to introduce our Phoneme Abilities Development Center to you. The first question that comes to many of our readers is, “What does phoneme (pronounced “foneem”) mean?” which, as we know, is not a common word except for those who studied languages, linguistics, or speech-language pathology. The Oxford Dictionary’s definition of phoneme is: “any one of the sets of smallest units of speech in a language that makes the difference between one word and another.” So simply, any sound distinguishing a word from another is called a phoneme. For example, in English, the sounds ‘p’ and ‘b’ are phonemes because the words ‘park’ and ‘bark’ are distinguished by their first phonemes.
So, what distinguishes Phoneme Centers from others? It is our passion to improve the welfare of our clients and their families by providing state-of-the-art and evidence-based services in the areas of communication, learning, and behavior. We are a team of highly dedicated and experienced professionals who strive to meet our client’s various needs and expectations in a rich and safe environment. At Phoneme, our doors are always open to our clients and their families, and we would like to receive their feedback on improving our services!
